The Gingerbread Gallery Presents 'Inspired by Hadlow Tower'

'Inspired by Hadlow Tower'

Exhibition of new artworks inspired by the restored Gothic folly.

Hadlow Tower, the UK's tallest folly, is now completely restored and getting
ready to open to the public for one day a week over the summer months. In
response to this historic occasion, a group of Hadlow artists are celebrating
the completion of this local achievement by staging an art exhibition - 'Inspired
by Hadlow Tower'. The exhibition will be held in the 'Pop-Up' Gingerbread
Gallery in Hadlow Square and is on for only one more weekend, on 20 & 21
April open from 10-5.

Following on from the success of their Christmas opening, the Gingerbread
Gallery artists have invited a number of guest artists directly involved with
the restoration of the Grade 1* listed building to join the art group on this
occasion. All the artwork has been created in response to the architectural
grandeur of this romantic 19th century Gothic landmark. 13 artists will be
showing a wide variety of traditional and modern work, in a range of media,
including painting, print, pastels, watercolour, textiles, paper, photography and
glass.

Handmade With Love @ Trinity

After the huge success of their first local craft event, Appleducks announce a new Spring date for Handmade with Love @ Trinity, championing local artists and makers!

Appleducks, the local Tunbridge Wells based events business, is delighted to announce they will be holding their second Handmade with Love craft fair at Trinity in Tunbridge Wells on Saturday April 13th, featuring crafts created by talented local makers.

Appleducks founders Jo Roberts (facebook.com/lovelieshandmade) and Stephanie Brushfield  (elephantinmyhandbag.com) made the decision after their first Handmade with Love event in November proved a big hit with craftspeople and the local public.

The April event will again be held at Trinity, one of the most beautiful buildings in Tunbridge Wells and a hub for art and cultural events. See www.trinitytheatre.net for details on the venue.

The second Handmade with Love @ Trinity will be held on Saturday 13th April 2013 from 10.00 am - 4 pm and will feature a huge range of beautiful handmade items, all created by local artists and makers.  As well as knitted, crocheted and hand sewn goods, there will be artwork, ceramics, cards, homeware, jewellery and clothing for sale. “We will have some new stallholders for the Spring event, as well as some who attended the first event in November,” said Stephanie @ Appleducks.

Entry to Handmade with Love @ Trinity will be just £3 and children under 14 are free.

The event will also feature some local musical talent - in the morning Trinity will be hosting their renowned “Breakfast at Trinity”, with live acoustic music from “Gentlemen of Few” and “Dorey the Wise” and in the afternoon, talented musician David Mumford, who recently supported folk music legend Joan Armatrading at The Assembly Halls, will be playing songs from his debut album "Bonfire Music". Don't miss this chance to see him!
